2024-10-04

The idea of Sellpy was born 10 years ago in Michael Arnör's parents' room when the founder returned from his studies abroad and discovered many things in his room that he wanted to sell. Together with his friends Oskar Nielsen and Philip Gunnstam he founded Sellpy - A unique circular business model, which enables for a sustainable, modern and personal customer offer and experience.

Since 2014, Sellpy has grown into a broad e-commerce platform for second hand fashion and other products. With its vision of enabling everyone to consume and live in a more circular way, Sellpy has created a unique service that makes it easy for people to buy and sell second hand items.

Over the past 10 years, Sellpy has achieved numerous milestones, including:

- Expanding to 24 markets across Europe. In 8 markets there are both buying and selling opportunities at the second hand platform (Sweden, Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France)

- Outgrowing 7 warehouses as a result of rapid growth with an assortment of more than 6 million items.

- Opening Pop-up stores in Berlin and Stockholm, alongside establishing new offices in both cities.

- Enhancing the customer experience by launching an app.

- Developed AI-powered search feature being one of the latest innovations from our Machine Learning team.

Consumer demand for second hand has never been so strong and is one of the fastest growing market segments within the fashion industry. Demand in Sellpy´s new markets is growing rapidly and therefore they will now continue to expand in order to empower consumers in Europe to live in a more circular way and keep fashion in use for as long as possible.
