2023-11-02

Getting the most use out of the resources already available is in the Sellpy DNA. Sellpy is now excited to launch Sellpy Upcycled – a platform of limited collections created by upcyclers, artists and designers. It redefines the art of sustainable fashion and gives items that are no longer used, a second chance.
The collaboration aims to enable creatives and upcyclers to easily source from Sellpy and extend the lifespan of used garments and promote upcycling to a wider audience.
’We hope that this initiative encourages people to see the endless potential in the resources that are already produced and the boundless creativity that can come from repurposing them’ says Philip Arvidson, Creative director at Sellpy.
Julia Dang is a multifaceted creative talent, based in Stockholm, whose work is guided by the influence of her surroundings. In her upcycled collection, Julia’s pieces draw inspiration from asymmetry, utilizing deconstruction and
reattachment techniques that manipulate fabrics to create a flow.
Yoyo Nasty is an artist and Illustrator with a background in fashion. The artwork in her upcycled pieces features one of her main characters – the tiger. With a wide smile, wild googly eyes and the tongue sticking out; the character expresses an eccentric and confident personality.
Johanna Burai is a graphic designer, Illustrator and art director. She describes her collection as a celebration of crying and letting go. Crying can be an expression of joy, sorrow, fear, anger, or any other emotion. It’s not a sign of weakness, but of courage and resilience.
All items are unique pieces that have been sourced from Sellpy and upcycled by each creator. The collection consists of T-shirts, dresses, jeans, skirts, and tops. It will be released on Sellpy.se on November 2, 2023, at 10 am.
